A Low Key 4th of July Tablescape is the way to go when you’re less about ‘over the top’ decorations and more about easy going and subtle.

Fourth of July Decorations and Tablescape, Remixed

When it comes to design and decor, I prefer a neutral backdrop dotted with personal, lovely items and little surprises. When celebrating holidays, that philosophy continues…a few pops of this or that, mixed in with our year round decor & I’m set.

I’ve remixed the typical 4th of July red, white + blue into a low key tablescape. Remove any part of the set, and you’re still left with a lovely table for any occasion!

Fourth of July decorations don’t have to be obvious! Chances are you already own items suitable for the holiday. Think about your color palette and springboard from there. I’m focusing on blue, white and natural textures, so went foraging for items that fit.

  • White table covering (mine is actually a photography backdrop!) and blue + white napkins
  • White pillar + tea light candles
  • White pitcher with dried lavender
  • Rustic wooden box (flipped upside down and used to elevate the candles)
  • Mason jars for flower arrangements (grocery store white hydrangeas)
  • Bleached wood tray for the serving bar
  • Woven jute placemats to layer and add texture
  • For placecards, I folded regular copy paper into stars! (Get the tutorial here.)

It doesn’t scream stars and stripes, but it’s got just enough of that Americana vibe!
