A whipped feta dip with a fig jam and pomegranate molasses swirl. It’s tangy, with a little hint of sweetness and just right for all the dippers!

If your whipped feta dip repertoire currently consists of feta, honey, and a prayer, I love that for you…but stick around. This one swaps the (excellent, but everywhere) hot honey for a warm fig jam and pomegranate molasses swirl, and it might just become the one you keep in rotation instead. It’s about five minutes of active work, it holds up beautifully if you make it ahead, and the swirl is built to complement the feta, not steamroll it — I pulled it back twice during testing until it stopped fighting for attention. If you love whipped feta but want something that reads a little more “dinner party” and a little less “everyone’s Pinterest board,” this is it.
And if you’re the type who’s already building a grazing spread for your next gathering, this dip slots right in as the star of the show.

A Quick Note on Pomegranate Molasses
Quick pit stop before we get cooking: pomegranate molasses is the one ingredient here that might not already be living in your pantry. It’s exactly what it sounds like — pomegranate juice cooked down until it’s thick, tangy, and deeply fruity, more tart than sweet. Look for it in the international aisle, or order it online (it keeps basically forever in the fridge, so this isn’t a one-and-done purchase).
If you’d rather use what you’ve already got, a good balsamic glaze is the easiest stand-in. It won’t taste identical, but it brings the same sweet-tart, syrupy character. Want something closer to the real thing? Simmer 1 cup pomegranate juice with a tablespoon of honey until it’s reduced by half (or two-thirds) and syrupy.
Make-Ahead & Storage
Good news for anyone who likes to get ahead on party prep: this one skips the fussy stuff. No straining the Greek yogurt, no advance steps. It whips up thick and holds its shape just fine. If you’re serving within a few hours, or even making it earlier the same day, don’t overthink it: whip it up, cover it, and stick it in the fridge.
If you want to go a full day ahead (hi, holiday hosts), store the whipped base in an airtight container with no garnish. Give it a good stir when you pull it out, spread it onto your serving dish, then add the swirl and toppings fresh. That’s the only real trick to this recipe, and it’s not much of one.

Garnish & Serving Ideas
Once it’s plated and swirled, you’ve got a couple of easy ways to dress it up depending on the occasion. Pomegranate arils are the move for a holiday table — that ruby color against the whipped feta is doing a lot of visual work for very little effort, and it fits right into a holiday party spread without missing a beat.
Making this outside of pomegranate season? (It happens. I don’t only cook holiday food from October through December.) A few quartered fresh figs do the same job and hint at what’s swirled in underneath.
For dippers, I reach for warm pita or crostini, but my rosemary + sea salt crackers are the move if you want to go homemade, or a platter of fresh vegetables works too if you want to lighten things up. This dip also travels well — it’s a great addition if you’re asked to bring a dish (especially if it’s down to the wire)!

Fig & Pomegranate Molasses Whipped Feta Dip
Equipment
Ingredients
Whipped Feta Base:
- 8 ounces feta, block, patted dry
- ⅓ cup full-fat plain Greek yogurt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 clove garlic, minced or grated
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- ½ teaspoon lemon zest
- Kosher salt and black pepper, to taste
Fig-Pomegranate Swirl:
- 2 tablespoons fig jam
- ½-1 tablespoon pomegranate molasses, to taste
- 1 pinch red pepper flakes
Toppings:
- 2 tablespoons roasted pistachios, roughly chopped
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves, plus a sprig or two for garnish
- pomegranate arils or fresh quartered fig, optional
For Serving:
- Warm pita, crostini, crackers, fresh vegetables
Instructions
- Combine feta, Greek yogurt, olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, and zest in a food processor. Blend until completely smooth and fluffy (about 2 to 3 minutes), scraping down the sides once or twice. Taste and adjust salt and pepper.
- Combine the fig jam, 1/2 tablespoon of pomegranate molasses (taste & add more, if you like), and red pepper flakes in a small microwave-safe bowl. Warm in the microwave for 20-30 seconds. Stir to make sure it is well combined and loose enough to drizzle.
- Spread the whipped feta onto a shallow plate or wide bowl, using the back of a spoon to create peaks and valleys.
- Drizzle the warm fig-pomegranate mixture over the whipped feta.
- Garnish with the chopped pistachios, and fresh thyme leaves. If using, add some pomegranate arils or quartered fresh fig.
- Serve immediately with warm pita, crostini, crackers or fresh veggies.
Notes
- Nutrition estimates do not include pita, crackers, or whatever you choose to serve with the whipped feta.
- Make ahead: Store the whipped base (unswirled, ungarnished) in an airtight container in the fridge up to 1 day ahead. Stir before spreading, then add the swirl and garnish fresh.
- No pomegranate molasses on hand? A balsamic glaze is the quickest swap. For something closer to the real thing, simmer 1 cup pomegranate juice with 1 tbsp honey until reduced by half and syrupy.
