Equipment

Ingredients

  • cups white whole wheat flour, or all-purpose
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon allspice
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • cups milk, I use 2%
  • ¼ cup neutral cooking oil, vegetable, avocado
  • 1 apple, peeled + grated

Instructions

  • Preheat your waffle maker.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, brown sugar, spices and salt.
  • In a smaller bowl or measuring cup, combine eggs, milk and oil. Add this to the flour mixture and stir until just combined.
  • Fold in the grated apple.
  • Cook the waffles per your waffle maker's instructions.
